I liked the light highlighting Rosey's hair when she was sitting in the living room. You can't really tell with the processing but she keeps getting into something and her nose is black all around the edges.
A picture a day for one year. Throughout this journey I hope to grow into the photographer I want to become and learn along the way.

Day 342
Kitten update: Rosey has settled in as part of our family. Her and Tika can even be seen sleeping together at times. They still play and chase each other and when Rosey gets too ambitions, Tika will put her in her place.

Day 335
Rosey is settling in to our house so well. Tika and her are getting along so much better than I predicted. I could not resist another cute photo of her.

Day 333
Don't ask me why I thought it was safe enough to get on the floor with the camera within reach of claws. Tika is actually doing better than I expected with Rosey's arrival. There has been a few hisses but mostly a lot of air batting. Today they almost seem to be playing together at times running and jumping. I think it will all work out very well. If nothing else, Tika is getting some much needed exercise.

Day 279
I originally had a different shot in mind for today but as I was setting up my lights SOMEBODY plopped down in my spot and got comfy. Tika rarely stays put when I bring out the strobes because she likes to watch the light bounce around the room but today she was just too sleepy.
Strobist: SB900 camera right shot through umbrella at 1/2. SB600 camera left 1/32.

Day 269
Today was not such a great day so I was feeling a little less than motivated to set up anything.

Day 227
At least I get pretty consistent reactions from my family when I break out the camera. Tika instantly just starts looking to where the flash is going to bounce so she can try to chase it. I was messing around with the wide angle and never got anything better to shoot today so this is probably going to be it. I kind of like the way her face is all rounded out from the distortion of being so close up.

Day 184
I enjoy checking out the Superbowl commercials. Football I know zip about on the other hand. Tika was also less than impressed with any of it.

Day 160
A lack of time and motivation today led me back to the familiar things around the house. So time for another Tika shot. I so wanted to take a picture of my husband with a pack of frozen peas but I didn't know how that would quite go over. He got "fixed" today and is currently laid up on the couch. Tika keeps trying to jump in his lap so me taking a picture momentarily distracted her by the flash off the wall. When she doesn't get her way she gets rather grouchy.

Day 90
Pumpkin carving turned into a whole other adventure when the cat was more interested in the inside than my daughter. I swear she will eat anything.

Day 88
I didn't think this kitty wig was going to go over very well and I was right but I got my shot.

Day 67
Got started on the Halloween decorations today and Miss Tika decided she was fragile material. Converted to black and white due to the high ISO.

Day 27
"Don't bother me mom!" Between my child and my cat no one wanted to pose for me today. I had to wait patiently for Tika to go to sleep and quickly snap this.

Day 11
I'm a little distracted today with starting an online photography class and also scheduling a private lesson for the same day. So I'm scrambling to get my assignments done.
Which leads to me snapping an quick photo of our cat, Tika, while she is sitting on my desk watching me fret.

Day One
I just returned home from visiting friends in our old home state of Virginia. They suggested I start my own 365 photography blog after I expressed my desire to pursue photography further. So here I am, weary from travel, barely unpacked and deciding to start my blog tonight.
Tika, our kitty, turned out to be my first model. Not much for holding still and much more interested in loving the camera and telling Mommy how happy she was that I was home.
