Went to the in-laws for dinner tonight for homemade chicken and dumplings. I thought the flour canister that my mother in law has probably had forever would make a good photo opp.
A picture a day for one year. Throughout this journey I hope to grow into the photographer I want to become and learn along the way.

Day 210
We had a busy morning with a preschool field trip to the fire station followed by Krispy Kreme doughnuts and the park. Most of my shots were garbage from today as they usually are when I try to shoot candid stuff.
I was very impressed with the new fire station and the gentleman who gave the tour. They did a great job.

Day 209
My 2nd attempt at this for the day as I wasn't happy with how the first one turned out. I like this much better. The late evening light coming in my frosted glass window never seems to disappoint. Directions on how I did this here:

Day 208
In looking for inspiration today I came across an empty sketch book I had purchased back in my drawing phase. I think it made for a great black and white.

Day 207
This is so totally fake as I can't keep anything real alive. I was out shopping today and spotted these and brought them home to put in a vase somewhere. It was really windy outside today despite the sunny skies so this is probably not as sharp as it could have been.

Day 206
Ugh, what a day. As much as I try not to have this 365 project turn into my personal diary today they are just kind of running together. I spent most of the day feeling sorry for myself about an old friend who is trying to contact me and I am not over past hurts enough to be able to return her call.
Then I find out that my husband's company is laying off around 2000 more employees in the coming months. Yes, I said MORE. We are pretty sure his job position is safe but you never can tell in this economy anymore. Either way it is nerve wracking and sad for our local economy.

Day 205
Just a quick shot today while I was up in the playroom. The Barbie table was set up on top of the play table in front of the play kitchen. Seems appropriate.

Day 203
This is how other sees me when I don't smile. Dark and gloomy. Inside I admittedly feel about the same lately. I have built this shell around myself that I am trying to break away slowly. In hindsight I can see the pattern emerging from past winters. I really can't wait for Spring.
Day 202
My little monster looked so cute in her new dress I wanted to get some shots. Too bad serious and sitting still are not in her vocabulary. I quickly figured out I was better off getting a silly pose out of her so I folded up some pillows and had her hang upside down. I am also loving playing with Photoshop as you can see. This is a "pastel" plug in I got free with my Wacom tablet.

Day 201
My Valentine's flowers said their goodbyes today. I was so happy that I got to use natural sunlight for a shot, it was so nice out today.

Day 200
I needed a warm pick-me-up today as my daughter and I were playing pretend tea. I had no idea how reflective my counter tops were in the right light. I will have to remember this for future shots.

Day 199
This is about as uninteresting of a picture you can get but I ran out of umph today after dusting and tidying up the house. Plus how often is my desk this clean where I can take a shot of it, right?
Day 198
A quick shot snapped during dinner preparation and the only one as my batteries died in the flash shortly after. We had one of my favorite dishes to make: Mexican Spaghetti. It is an adaptation of a recipe I found in a magazine. Basically it involves ground turkey, salsa, taco seasoning, corn and whatever else you want to throw in. Serve over pasta and top with cheese, yum! This is also my very first photo using Photoshop CS4 and I feel like a photo virgin all over again. I am so used to Elements finding my way around is a little disorientating.

Day 197 - Happy Valentine's Day
My husband spoiled me rotten as usual. We had a nice child-free evening at the Melting Pot. And yes, I had my martini's! Today I was lavished with Adobe Photoshop CS4 and a Wacom Intuos Pen Tablet. Plus he also farmed for hours in World of Warcraft to get me my very own Disgusting Oozling Pet. If you don't know what that is, let's just say that is true love. Now I need to get to installing it all so I can play!

Day 194
Finally sunshine, originally uploaded by Shutterbug Cel.
This weather is wearing on me. When I broke down and said I needed us to move back to Idaho I forgot how big of an impact the winters are on me here. Please let it be over soon.

Day 193
Day 192
The Melting Pot has this fabulous martini, called the Love Martini, it is so good I usually end up with 3 by the time my night is done. This shot is nothing like how it really looks but my own version for Valentine's. I used sparkling water and candy heart sprinkles. The remote came in very handy for this shot.

Day 191
H, originally uploaded by Shutterbug Cel.
You would not know it but we spent a long night trying to get her to stop crying and go to sleep. The little cold she has had turns into a nasty cough at night and makes for a very tired unhappy little girl.

Day 190
Scarf, originally uploaded by Shutterbug Cel.
Two things I have discovered so far in my Project 365 journey: 1, I like white backgrounds and 2, I like setting up simple shots. This is actually a belt that I never wear but it looks more like a scarf to me.
Day 189
What a crazy day. I ran from one place to another all day. This was the shot quickly taken in the car driving home.

Day 188
Tomorrow I am going to be taking some listing photos for the Realtor who helped us get our home. Problem is I don't have a lot of practice with it. I am a little nervous I won't live up to expectations. I practiced on my bathroom and bedroom today to see how I did. First thing is first: I need a wide angle lens. If anyone has any tips I would love to hear them.

Day 187
I am still not sure I am entirely getting how to shoot "Low Key" but I liked how this turned out. I just used a lamp light and nothing else. This is the book I am currently reading, The Story of Edgar Sawtelle.

Day 185
Another gorgeous sunset. I missed shooting the peak of it while I was cooking dinner. Some days I don't know that my 365 project would survive without the sunsets. I am so grateful for our view.

Day 184
I enjoy checking out the Superbowl commercials. Football I know zip about on the other hand. Tika was also less than impressed with any of it.
